Our journey towards sustainability was initiated not as a response to social trends, but because we truly believe it is the right thing to do. Our sustainability journey started in 2006, with the implementation of an environmental management system. Eighteen years on, we are focused on social responsibility just as ambitiously as we have been addressing environmental sustainability. As part of our commitment, we report annually on our sustainability performance. You can read our latest report here.
Thinking Works Sustainability Report 2023/24
Environmentally Responsible
At Thinking Works, we understand the importance of sustainability as a company. We also want to support our clients and customers to be more sustainable, by providing environmentally preferable products and ensuring our business operations are addressing environmental and social impacts – not just in our manufacturing facility, but also within our supply chain. We are always looking for ways to lower our environmental impact, whether by offsetting our energy, or thinking about how we design our products.

Minimising our Environmental Impact and Carbon Emissions
Thinking Works has been certified to ISO14001 EMS since 2009, which means we have a system in place to manage and lower our environmental impacts. We started measuring our waste and have been offsetting our business operational emissions since 2009. Over these 15 years, Thinking Works has reduced waste by up to 9.3% and reduced our carbon emissions by 59%. Our management system is audited annually by an external auditing company – Global Mark – to ensure we are complying with the ISO 14001:2015 standard requirements.
Sustainable Products
The team at Thinking Works is passionate and committed to designing products with the environment and sustainability in mind. In each design we ensure the product is fit for purpose and is easily disassembled at the end of life. We strive to procure products and materials with recycled content and materials that are low in toxicity. Our products are independently tested by CETEC to assure they are low in Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s).
All our GECA and AFRDI GreenTick products are certified Level A to ensure our clients get maximum points within the Green Star Interiors Rating Tool. Our certified products include: The Okidoki range, u.r and EONA Range, Blade static table, folding and four-star table, Lovoc screen, Ovation electric height adjustable desk, Silo table, Stix Workstation (Fixed Height and Electric Height Adjustable) and the Rosie Table.

Social Responsibility and Addressing Human Rights and Modern Slavery
At Thinking Works, our staff is our priority, and we strive to provide a safe and healthy work environment for everyone. We also know the importance of working with our suppliers to understand their labour practices, including the risk of modern slavery and exploitative work practices. We have been developing our due diligence system to address modern slavery and human rights for several years and have been a participant to the UN Global Compact since 2016. As part of our commitment, Thinking Works voluntarily reports under the Commonwealth Modern Slavery Act 2018. You can find our report published on the Modern Slavery Register or read it here.
