At Thinking Works, we are always looking for ways to lower our environmental impact. Our business operations have been 100% Carbon Neutral since 2010 when we committed to offsetting the carbon emissions from our Scope 1 and Scope 2 business activities by purchasing and retiring certified carbon credits under the global Verified Carbon Standard (VCS).
But with science telling us we need to take urgent action to stop the devastating effects of global warming, we believe that going carbon neutral isn’t enough. The answer is not to try and pause or slow down the effects of global warming – we need to do our part to stop it in its tracks and then reverse it.
From today onwards, for every 1kg of carbon dioxide (CO2) that is released into the atmosphere as a result of Thinking Works’ business operations, we will remove 2kg of CO2 from the atmosphere.
This makes us not just carbon neutral, but carbon negative.

What is the Race to Zero?
Race to Zero is the UN-backed global campaign rallying non-state actors – including companies, cities, regions, financial and educational institutions – to take rigorous and immediate action to halve global emissions by 2030 and deliver a healthier, fairer zero-carbon world in time. For more information on how you can join the Race to Zero, click here.
Our journey towards sustainability was initiated not as a response to social trends, but because we truly believe it is the right thing to do.
We’re not a huge business, but we are ambitious – and we are determined to make a positive impact, both in terms of the environment and social responsibility.
We understand this will take time, passion and commitment.
