The furniture sector is a high material-use and high-waste industry. In Australia, around 30,000 tonnes of commercial furniture waste is generated each year, with an estimated 95% ending up in landfill¹. This highlights the need to move beyond the traditional linear take-make-use-waste model.
At Thinking Works, our Take-Back Program is designed to support a more circular approach to the furniture lifecycle. Our products are designed for durability and for recovery at the end of service life, with construction that supports reuse, refurbishment and recycling where practicable.
Through the program, Thinking Works products that are no longer required or have reached the end of their service life can be returned for responsible management – supporting waste reduction, improved resource efficiency, and responsible environmental management.
